Youth Mental Health & Wellness Program

The Youth Mental Health & Wellness Program at Happy Hearts Learning Centre (HHLC) provides compassionate, culturally safe mental health support for youth—particularly Black, newcomer, Indigenous, and immigrant young people who may face unique stressors, trauma, discrimination, or challenges adjusting to life in Canada. Our program ensures youth feel heard, supported, and empowered. We focus on early intervention, emotional resilience, and family involvement to strengthen overall wellness and prevent the escalation of mental health concerns.

Through partnerships with mental health specialists, educators, and social workers, HHLC provides a supportive environment where youth can build coping skills, process emotions, and develop confidence in their identity and future.

Program Objectives

This health aid program is designed to promote the well-being and health resilience of immigrant families in Calgary, focusing on three core areas

Support families in understanding mental health issues and navigating available services.

Reduce stigma around mental health in newcomer, immigrant, and racialized communities.
